Look And Taste Show Episode 8
Massive Le Creuset Competition
So today we have prizes from LeCreuset worth over 500 Euros with thanks to our sponsors Odlums. All you have to do to win the prize is very simply help to promote the Lookandtaste show. The show is new and we are trying to spread the word so all we need is a little help from you guys. If you want to get entered into the draw you have to do something that promotes the show in a new or exciting way, maybe tell all your twitter followers, suggest our Facebook page to your friends or generally do something wacky to tell people about the show. Our judges will be selecting the best 5 suggestions who will then go into a live draw for the whole prize before next Tuesdays show! Good luck!

The prize for this and Tuesdays draw will be announced just before the show next Tuesday.

Wishing you good luck with your new show, like the format.

To help get the word out there about Look & Taste, I’m going to suggest that my Twitter and Facebook friends join the site, and I’ll be using L&T as an example of modern age marketing in a presentation to my business networking group (40-50 people) later this month. I’ll also put up a review on loudervoice.com and email my close friends to become a part of the craze!

I saw your advertisement in the Sunday World and have now forwarded your website address to a few friends and got them to put their name on your mailing list, for Newsletter.
I have tried receipe for brown bread. I am delighted with Odlums already, as I buy all of their products and am on their mailing list.
Hope I will be lucky with your competition.

I’ve already been linking to the videos in my random links posts since it started. @willknott and I also tried our hands at making the Thai salad from Episode 5 before, to quite some hilarious results! Iceberg is not a good substitute for baby gem in that recipe!

Invade the stage on Ryan Tubridy’s first night of the Late, Late Show while shouting ‘LOOK AND TASTE, LOOK AND TASTE!!!’.
Instant mass exposure and respect from a legion of Tubridy-haters (half the country?). Then I’ll create a hashtag for it (#tubsinvaders?) and the buss will multiply tenfold.

OK I’m finally ready with my entry for this great contest: check it out at http://bit.ly/YAQFc
I really hope that some of my 25k visitors/week will enjoy the show as much as I do very week.
And of course I’ve added an English text to the blog so that everyone can understand they really need to watch L&T shows…
and btw the recipe was really great!!!
thanks guys, you rock!
[Reply]
forgive me… it’s 15k/week not 25
[Reply]
btw, I just added links and recipe to my Facebook profile too
[Reply]
I have added this to my facebook status as well as my twitter update! I hope you get more hits to the site and that the show gets the popularity it deserves
[Reply]
I promoted the show…
[Reply]
I am really looking forward to your show from across the pond. Good Luck

Watched when you were ifoods.tv and this was excellent, but so loving the new name Look and Taste, Odlums must be proud to have you all on board. Le Crueset also.
Congratulations from a fan of cooking.

Promoted to all my friends on and off Facebook, hopefully you will see some new European and US users. Also showing everyone I know iPhone app. Its terrific, made that portebello recipie last night (without the burger buns) ymmmmmm!

Rewrite your recipes/shows into print format and work on developing syndicates in both offline and online media i.e. try to get a regular piece/column/recipe in a magazine/newspaper – there are plenty of free distribution newspapers who have huge circulation but can’t afford to spend much on editorial. Likewise for other blogs/online publications. Best of luck.

Have Tweeted about the site on Twitter, love the recipes

I don’t know about newness, but maybe there’d be a little excitement in getting the Look and Taste roadshow to come down to Cork and join Bubble Brothers at the AGA shop on Lapp’s Quay for a joint wine tasting and cookery demo.
I’d do my bit with publicity on our blog and Facebook and Twitter and e-mail, and by the time our mailing list knew about it, and the AGA shop’s mailing list, and all your readers, demand ought to exceed supply in a very newsworthy way.
Not to mention the obvious good fit between AGA’s stoves (nothing better for the Odlum’s porridge), the promotion of home cooking à la Niall, and our lover-ly wines.
Plus I do genuinely need all that swag still.

Why not to set up a “Restaurant without Menus”?
Each table will be equipped with a touch screen connected directly to LookandTaste.com.
Where the Chef(s) are unable to create the requested dish, a list of available ingredients will be shown and @twecipe will be brought into action!

Just sent personal message to my 335 friends on facebook about the Look and Taste page and also blogged about the site and the show on my own personal blog: http://ciaracrossan.wordpress.com/
Good luck Niall and Sean!

Invite some sort of new gong, a CFE, and a celeb to award it and then a big press splash:
Delia’s CBE (commander of the British Empire) was great but the Foodies Republic voted Look & Taste commander of the food empire…. Look & Taste commented, they were happy to leave the BBC to Delia, just as long as the web was all theirs

I’m all over it. Twitter and Facebook followers are now coming in there droves.
Give me that set for my new apartment!!

I’ve tweeted, advertised on my facebook page and blog

I’ve also emailed everyone in my hubby’s office and everyone on my email list. I could hang out of my window and shout it down the road if you like as well

Apart from the general connecting to your facebook account…. I would cook a lovely 4 course dinner for many friends with the le crueset pans, let them taste the beautiful recipies found on this website and will write a review + pictures about it on some of our Dutch cooking websites (like http://koken.blogo.nl/ and the very well known recipy site: http://www.smulweb.nl/).
That way – not only the people who had dinner with me are very aware of your show, but also the whole Dutch audience is! You’ll expand internationally

I have posted about the site on Twitter and Facebook: I have also sent it to all my friends and work colleagues (70+) – as I enjoy cooking and often share recipes with them: I sent it under the hook of ‘improve your favourite food’ because even though your lasagne or thia curry might be excellent there’s lots of ideas here on how to make it just that little bit tastier.
I also work with Corona Extra and have sent the link
(http://www.lookandtaste.com/everything-else/Limes-for-Corona/306/) to the PR and Marketing department for Ireland with a view to linking it to the official Irish Corona Facebook page when it goes live next week.
Lastly, if I win I’m going to host a dinner party using my new Le Creuset ware and cook everything from this site – I will then tweet and post about how I got on with each recipe and get the dinner party attendees to do the same!
Fingers Crossed!

I just streaked naked down the street and shouted out how great lookandtaste.com was……or maybe that was a dream
[Reply]
Hey, I didn’t realise you had a show! Good work, I’m really impressed. Caught up on all the episodes!
Also, what a prize O_o
Besides putting it up on my Facebook and Twitter and spreading the news to the various cookery enthusiasts I know online (all done), I’d submit the show for a mention in the cooking shops’ newsletters (Lakeland, etc).
If I won (and that sounds like a bribe, I know…) I would contact the local Aga shop to organise a free demonstration using their ovens and serving recipes from the show!

(Wow, the number of replies grew exponentially while I was typing mine)

Right now- I am going to send your FB info to all my foodie friends!

I forgot to tell you what I did in time so I’m probably too late *sob* but I twittered lots about you, and hopefully managed to get everyone’s attention with some witty tweets(or so I thought anyway!)

I’ve written your URL in chalk on various Chicago sidewalks.

I would know those hands anywhere. You guys do a great job in both teaching me how to cook and building my intrest in food. Look & Taste Rocks.

i love telling people about the site, and the range of things to try and cookin easy with niall.

Suggestion from a primary school teacher:
Send link / flyers to Language bookshop and ESL English as a Second Language Teachers.
What about Unnuage?
Link to Look and Taste right away through RSS and Twitt
- to all contacts and readers through Netvibes, Twitter and Diigo.
Why English as a second Language Teachs?
TPR. Total Physical Response, learning through action.
Voila

I might be hopelessly late with this one, but might as well alert you to my home-cooked meme, which I posted on my blog & Facebook. It’s foodie-related and includes a link & recommendation to the show & Twecipe. So disappointed I couldn’t come up with a quiz that would have kept the link to your site but this’ll have to do!
